I was born on October 18th, 1990 in Novi Sad, then the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, to my mother Ljiljana Besermenji, a kitchen worker, and my father Ivan Besermenji, a waiter. I grew up in Petrovaradin and attended elementary school “Jovan Ducic,” followed by the Gymnasium in Sremski Karlovci, specializing in Spanish language.
At the age of 16, I hosted a television program for the first time with a group of teenagers, called “Teen In.” I earned my undergraduate and master’s degrees in Political Science from the Faculty of European Legal and Political Studies in Novi Sad, as well as a master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom. In 2017, I studied at the University of Birmingham as a recipient of the Chevening Scholarship from the UK Government.
At the age of 19, I began working as a journalist and host on RTV Panonija in Novi Sad, on a political program called “Bez Cenzure”. I conducted over 100 interviews with politicians, media representatives, civil society representatives, and other prominent figures from Serbia and the region. I also hosted other programs, including morning shows and news programs.
At the age of 22, I left television and began writing articles for the “Autonomija!” portal, an independent association of journalists in Vojvodina. My articles were published in newspapers such as “Danas” and “Novi magazin,” as well as on numerous other websites in Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Kosovo. From 2013 to 2016, I was a teaching assistant at the Faculty of European Legal and Political Studies in Novi Sad. At the age of 26, I went to the University of Birmingham for my master’s degree in Public Administration, as a recipient of the Chevening Scholarship from the UK Government. In February 2018, I started my own blog.
After returning from the UK, I spent the summer of 2018 working as a kitchen assistant in Umag, on the Croatian coast of the Adriatic Sea. At the age of 28, I became a flight attendant, moved to Qatar, and traveled extensively around the world. Since 2021, I have worked at N1 television in Belgrade (CNN’s exclusive news channel affiliate for Western Balkans) as a news anchor and journalist. In addition to journalism, I am interested in cultural and public diplomacy. In 2023, I became the Director of Global Marketing at Xenios Academy, a company in the United Arab Emirates that offers a revolutionary approach to luxury hospitality training around the world. I enjoy traveling, exercising, learning, and meeting new people.
